Podfic Mail

While on a quest for an awesome iPhone case, I ended up deciding to just design my own through one of those made to order sites. And, since I'm the biggest sucker for the whole "might as well make the shipping worth while" mentality, I ended up searching through their other products. They mostly cater to small businesses and make business cards, letterheads, promo swag, etc and I somehow found myself designing a podfic header and getting cards made.

So, if you would like to get a podfic card from me, leave me your address in an (screened) comment, or email it to me at parakaproductions at gmail dot com. I'll mail internationally. :)

Hello lovely flist. Who'd like to get some mail from me?

It's that time of the year again when I send out cards (your choice of a Christmas card, a seasonal card or a post card). Comments are screened if you'd like to drop me you address. I will mail internationally.

If you have a mail post that I missed please link me :)

Help Haiti and Podfic Feedback Exchange.

Well, it looks like I shouldn't have worried over my mail for a year idea. Not only is it my highest bid, a whole bunch of other people are now offering it from their various locations and with themes. :)

Since I didn't link to it in the last entry, if you'd like to bid on getting mail from me for a year you can do so here

I don't actually want to pimp myself out too much but I'll probably do so at least once more before everything's over. Anyways, my podfic offer is here (current bids at $15) and my vid offer is here (no bids yet :( ).

In other news, I spent the day trying to match people up for my podfic feedback exchange. 30 people signed up, with 20 podfics to review. I spent a huge amount of time working on the matching yesterday too. I set up a spreadsheet that was really helpful in getting an idea of what I needed to put in the spreadsheet and how to approach certain things. However I just couldn't see the whole thing without making the font too small to read. I'm a really visual person, so I have to be able to see everything. So the next step was getting the craft paper out and transferring the info to paper. [personal profile] diurnal_lee has this giant pad of paper that's 18"12". My first draft wasn't properly spaced so the columns by the end were like 3mm wide, which just didn't work. In fact just as I finished matching everyone up last night, I realized that there were 2 reviewers that didn't have fics to review! I did some quick and dirty changes but at that point I realized that it was 2 am and I had been working on this mostly non-stop since 4pm.

This morning, even though I had everyone matched up from the night before, I decided to do it again. I wasn't really all that satisfied, and I figured I knew what I did wrong last time :P I made a new paper spreadsheet, better spaced this time. However I still wasn't able to fit all the information I wanted on it comfortably, so out came the markers and highlighters. The second matching took much less time, about 5 hours with lots of distractions and I would run downstairs and announce "OMG! I forgot to take into account that some of these podfics where gifts to reviewers during podbang!" It seems kind of tacky to ask someone to review their gift. I also almost assigned someone their own podfic the night before :S

Anyways, everyone's matched up now. I'm going to double check everything tomorrow and then start sending out the assignments. Maybe I'll take pictures of may crazy charts so you can see how nuts I am. :P

Mail Time!

So, it's getting close to that time of the year again. Time to get the stamps out and send out the mail to celebrate the holiday season! I used to be better about mailing things to my flist, but have been failing lately, so I want to make extra sure that everyone who's interested get a card this year for the holidays!

I'd like to encourage everyone who's interested to sign up. Even if you don't plan on sending mail out yourself, that's A-OK by me, I don't need anything in return. I *do* however need to use up the ridiculous amount of stamps I currently have (3 sheets of American stamps, 3 sheets of international stamps and 2 sheets of Canadian).

Seriously, everyone loves mail that isn't bills, so if you're comfortable giving out your address, sign up. Even if you live in Ottawa and I see you all the time.

So, if you're interested in receiving mail from me, leave a comment (comments are screened) and let me know if you'd like a card or a post card and your address if I don't already have it.

Questions, questions.

First off, I'm one of those people getting nervous with how LJs been acting, so have started other journals. I'm paraka on IJ, GJ and Journalfen. Feel free to add me. I have quite a few of you already added, but if I missed someone, or if you have a different name over there, please add me.
I'm really liking Insane Journal, and if people were actually posting to their IJs and not just making them as placeholders I would be tempted to switch all together.
I would maybe use GJ more if I hadn't given the link to mine to *every* member of my family. I used it as my travel journal while in China, so don't really feel comfortable doing fandom stuff there. Also, from what I've read, they kind of policies like LJ.
Journal fen, well, I just haven't really looked into it yet.

My first question though, is:
I know there are programs out there that allow you to post to more than one journal at a time. Could someone please point me in the direction of one? I'm currently just copying things over whenever I post :(

My second question:
Which do you prefer

I know a while ago when I did my RL meme I offered to write people letters. I recently went out and bought a bunch of postcards and cards and whatnot, so was wondering if anyone else would like a letter from me. If you would, just leave a comment with your mailing address (comments are screened) or e-mail me at
